INTRODUCTION

rentinit L.L.C-FZ, a Limited Liability Company with its principal offices at Meydan Grandstand, 6th floor, Meydan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, U.A.E. ("rentinit", "us", "we", or "our") operates the rentinit platform (the "Platform") and provides software services related to rental property transactions (the "Services"), which are available through the Platform.

This Privacy Policy informs you of how information about you is collected, used, and disclosed by us. This Privacy Policy forms part of our Platform Terms of Service. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Service.

THE DATA WE COLLECT

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity Data includes first name, last name, username or similar identifier, date of birth, nationality, official identification documents (Emirates ID, passport, visa), photographs of you, and verification data.
  • Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address, telephone numbers, and emergency contact information.
  • Financial Data includes bank account details, payment card details, income verification, credit history, and transaction history.
  • Property Data includes property details, ownership documentation, title deeds, rental history, and property condition records.
  • Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of services you have purchased from us, rental agreements, payment history, and rental deposits.
  • Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this platform.
  • Profile Data includes your username and password, preferences, rental history, tenant scores, feedback, and survey responses.
  • Usage Data includes information about how you use our platform and services.
  • Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving communications from us and your communication preferences.

We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity.

Special Categories of Personal Data

We may collect and process special categories of personal data when conducting verification processes as required by applicable laws and regulations, including applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements.

If You Fail to Provide Personal Data

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you. In this case, we may have to cancel a service you have with us, but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.

We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through:

Direct Interactions

You may give us your Identity, Contact, Financial, and Property Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us by post, phone, email, or otherwise. This includes personal data you provide when you:

  • Create an account on our platform
  • Add a property for rental transactions
  • Apply to rent a property
  • Complete our verification process
  • Make or receive payments through our platform
  • Execute rental agreements
  • Request communications to be sent to you
  • Submit feedback or contact us

Automated Technologies or Interactions

As you interact with our platform, we will automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns. We collect this personal data by using cookies, server logs, and other similar technologies.

Third Parties or Publicly Available Sources

We will receive personal data about you from various third parties and public sources as set out below:

  • Identity and Contact Data from UAE Pass and other official identity verification systems
  • Property ownership data from Dubai Land Department and other relevant government authorities
  • Identity verification data from our verification partners
  • Payment and transaction data from our payment processing partners
  • Technical Data from analytics providers
  • Contact, Financial, and Transaction Data from providers of technical, payment, and delivery services
  • Identity and Contact Data from publicly available sources such as government registries

You can ask us to stop sending you communications at any time by following the opt-out links on any message sent to you or by contacting us at any time.

Change of Purpose

We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose.

DISCLOSURES OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

We may share your personal data with the parties set out below for the purposes set out in the table above:

  • Service providers who provide IT and system administration services, identity verification services, payment processing services, and document management services
  • Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors, and insurers who provide consultancy, banking, legal, insurance, and accounting services
  • Dubai Land Department and other government authorities for Ejari registration and regulatory compliance
  • Regulators and other authorities who require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances
  • Third parties to whom we may choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or our assets

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Our hosting and data storage infrastructure is located within the UAE. We may transfer data outside the UAE in the following circumstances:

  • To service providers located outside the UAE
  • When legally required to do so
  • With your explicit consent

When we transfer data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place including standard contractual clauses and encryption.

No Fee Usually Required

You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any of the other rights). However, we may charge a reasonable fee if your request is clearly unfounded, repetitive or excessive.

What We May Need From You

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data. This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

Time Limit to Respond

We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.

TENANT SCORING

We use automated decision-making systems to calculate tenant scores based on various data categories including financial history, rental history, and verification status. You have the right to:

  • Request human review of automated decisions
  • Understand the general categories of factors considered
  • Correct any inaccurate input data
  • Appeal scoring decisions

Please note that while we can provide information about general categories of factors considered in scoring, the specific algorithms and weightings are proprietary and confidential.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

As our services involve payment processing and property transactions, we operate in compliance with applicable UAE laws and regulations. This includes:

  • Anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing requirements
  • Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) requirements
  • Dubai Land Department regulations
  • Data protection and privacy laws

We may be required to share your data with relevant authorities for compliance purposes.
